Heritage & Refit
A legacy of craftsmanship
Rhemtide is one of the original luxury motor yachts still cruising today, designed by the celebrated naval architect Jack Hargrave. Hargrave Yachts enjoys one of the most recognisable names in the marine industry. For over 40 years, Jack Hargrave set the standard for American yachtsmen and represented the best in design, engineering and planning. Hargrave’s designs were the basis for such yachts as Hatteras, Burger and Rybovich. Rhemtide was constructed in Derecktor Shipyard, just over thirty minutes from Manhattan, New York. Rhemtide embodies the elegance and craftsmanship of yachting’s golden era, and throughout her lifetime she has welcomed an extraordinary array of guests.
Her decks have hosted Queen Elizabeth II, the King and Queen of Norway, the Kennedy family, and countless celebrities and business leaders. In the 2000s, while cruising the United States East Coast and the Caribbean, she became a favourite retreat for stars such as Kanye West, Jay Z, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and many more.
Her story is one of timeless design and remarkable pedigree. She represents an era when yachts were built with authenticity, strength, and elegance in equal measure. Today, that heritage sets her apart in the Sydney charter market, where she offers guests a rare opportunity to step aboard a true classic whose history is as impressive as the experience she now provides.
Heritage reimagined
Rhemtide has just completed an extensive refit at The Boat Works on the Gold Coast, home to some of the finest superyacht trades in the world. This major project was undertaken to prepare her for her new role as a boutique Sydney charter yacht, ensuring she is as relevant and refined today as when she first launched.
Inside, every detail has been renewed. She now features all new carpets, deckhead panels, and carefully curated furniture and design pieces that breathe new life into her heritage interiors while respecting her classic character. An interior designer was engaged to strike the right balance between timeless elegance and contemporary comfort.
On deck, a custom fitted flybridge bar has been installed to create the ultimate social hub, perfectly suited for entertaining guests against Sydney’s harbour backdrop. This is supported by upgraded audio systems, brand new speakers, and seamless Wi Fi connectivity, ensuring every charter is both stylish and connected.
The refit has been extensive in scope and meticulous in execution, with specialist trades at The Boat Works bringing their expertise to every aspect of the project. From structural refinements to interior finishing, the level of craftsmanship reinforces Rhemtide’s standing as a true heritage yacht reimagined for today’s charter market.
With her recent works complete, Rhemtide is now more than capable of delivering both relaxed day trips and extensive long range charters. She offers the rare combination of classic authenticity and modern luxury, presenting a charter experience that is both unique and unforgettable.
